The tenets of Vastu

Based on the 8 directions and their lordships, Vastu has specified 4 zones in any building.
They are:
Hot (also Static), Cold (also Movement), Dry (also Power) and Wet (also Soft). A graphic representation would make it clearer.

This chart makes the concept clearer.

In any building or plot the different sectors should contain:

North-East – Pooja room, Library, Living Room, Cjo;drem`s stidu, main water source & outlet, bathing areas, Sunken tubewell, Water bodies like pools, ponds etc.
South-East – This zone should contain the kitchen, pantry, geysers, stoves, ovens, generator room, furnace, boiler or the electrical transformers, Computers and other heat generating equipment may be placed in this section.
South-West – This should house the master bedroom, the CEO’s office, corporate office, the heavy raw material stores, heavy equipment and machines, etc.
North-West – The north-west should house the overhead water tanks, Guest room, Unmarried daughter’s room, Marketing dept., Finished goods section, Shipping dept. etc.
Brahm Sthan – The central portion known as Brahmasthan should be open, light and airy and should house the court yard or the pooja room.

There are many other doctrines related to section of the plot, main gate position, location of the building inside the plot, Vedhshools etc. However these are available in standard Vastu books. My endeavour here is to talk about Vastu as a modern day efficiency tool.
